UTC Lesson #4

1. I would agree with the Fugitive Slave Law.  Senator Bird believes that we should obey the law.  Romans 13:1 and Titus 3:1 back what Senator Bird believes by stating that all should obey the laws of the rulers or governing authorities.  The Fugitive Slave Law states that a slave is not free once on northern soil.  Police would take slaves and send them back to the south, if they caught them.  Mrs. Bird believes that as Christians we should help the oppressed.  Seeing Eliza made her feel she should help Eliza to freedom, or at least let her go.  Isaiah 58:6-8 and Matthew 25:34-40 back what Mrs. Bird believes stating that we as Christians should help those who are oppressed by the wicked.
